    If she hadn't gone Peeta would have died. It wouldn't be possible for them to get the sponsorship for the medicine.

    I think that it is true that Peeta would have died if she had not gone, but at the same time it was very risky to go, considering that all of the other tributes would be there and could have potentially killed her. It was also betraying Peeta's trust in a way, because she drugged him and snuck off after she promised not to.
